The Australian designed ROTA-Loo composing toilet system has evolved over many years since its start in 1974 to become efficient for composting and provide minimal maintenance.

The simple construction, using an internal rotating turntable which holds six composting bins, allows each bin to be filled and then turned around to compost without fresh material being added.

Liquids drain through into the base where they are evaporated by the fan unit, which also provides a constant fresh supply of air to the compost pile and prevents odours rising by drawing air down through the pedestal.

The Rota-Loo comes in various sizes to cater from 3-4 permanent residents up to commercial applications. Larger models can have two pedestals side by side.

Rota-Loo installation is simple enough that any competent handy person should be able to set it up in half a day. Typical installation is as shown on right and can also be designed into slab on ground construction.
